Top selling dancehall artist Mavado was involved in a accident in Montego Bay, St James, last Saturday night. he was traveling to Negril for Negril Summer Heat, and was caught up in the vehicle but was not hurt in the accident.

Sources close to the deejay said that Mavado and his manager Julian Jones-Griffith had been traveling in a friend's vehicle along Queens Drive (popularly known as Top Road) when they were hit by another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. The driver of the vehicle that hit them was said to have lost control.

Police personnel had been at the scene of the accident, efforts to get an official report were unsuccessful. When asked, the police stated that they did not get a report about the accident. Our source, however, said that the vehicle in which Mavado was traveling was badly damaged but there were no injuries.
