Malika Boyd, a 32-year-old butcher, is the new GT&T Cellink Jingle and Song Competition winner.
After being announced the winner she collapsed on the stage! But before you know it she was back up, all bouncy and jolly infront the crowd, where she then performed as the 2009 Cellink Jingle Winner!
According to Boyd she was “ecstatic and thrilled” and noted that from day one all she wanted to do was win that VIOS car, also realising that the competition had much more to offer her. But come on a brand new car is alot!
Boyd was a crowd favourite since the beginning of the quarterfinal round of the Jingle and Song Competition. Boyd, who hails from Linden, said that finally her dreams of using her God given talent are bearing fruit. Good for you Melika!
Calvin Burnett came in second and Michael Thompson third. Both Burnett and Thompson thanked all of their supporters for the experiences although not winning.
Over 300 potential jingle winners auditioned for the competition.
The theme for this year’s Jingle Competition was “Caribbean Rhythm, Guyanese Vibes.”
Lets hope it gets better next year! And you never know maybe someone from GSB.com might audition!
