Jingle Struck! Second Lindener to win competition, receives her brand new car.

20090809boydThe people of the Bauxite town Linden came out in full support of their second Jingle winner out of the county. Malika Boyd received her brand new Vios car Friday last after she pulled it off and won the Cellink Jingle Competition. The Lindeners braved their inclement weathered town and lined the Bus Park and Republic Avenue to get a glimpse at Boyd in her motorcade.  Runners-up Calvin Burnett and Michael Thompson were also part of the motorcade.

20090809malika Laptop computers, digital gadgets and trophies were given to the winners. Boyd is now the the proud owner of a brand new Toyota VIOS car and a complimentary video recording of a single.  Burnette who placed 2nd in the competition received $500,000 and a one year endorsement deal with GT&T. Thompson placed 3rd and received $250, 000.

Timeka Marshall, the first winner of the competition, now seeking international fame, also hails from Linden.

Last year’s first runner-up René Winter is also a Lindener and several young Linden talents have made it to the top ten of the competition over the years. Pattern?

There was some talk brewing around that Boyd the Butcher was over the age limit for the competition, but we guess it was overlooked.
