Beyonce & Lil Wayne Tops Nominees for the BET Awards.

Get ready peps, the 2009 BET Awards are right around the corner. Just last night, they announced the list of nominees. And yes of course Beyonce not only made the list she top it.

Who wants to BET that “Single Ladies” wins for Video of the Year?

That catchy tune is just one of the reasons Beyoncé was nominated for a leading five honors at the upcoming 2009 BET Awards, a mark matched only by T.I., who might not be able to make it to the June 28 ceremony his year.

In addition to two nods for top video (the other coming for “If I Were a Boy”), Beyoncé is up for Female R&B Artist of the Year (in which she competes against Jennifer Hudson, among others), Best Actress and a Viewers’ Choice honor.

T.I., who on March 27 was sentenced to 366 days in prison on a weapons charge and is expected to turn himself May 19, shares nominations for Video of the Year and Best Collaboration with Rihanna (”Live Your Life”). He’s also up for Best Collaboration with Yung Dro and Young LA on “Ain’t I,” Best Male Hip-Hop Artist and Viewers’ Choice.

Keri Hilson, Lil Wayne and T-Pain also had strong showings, with four nods apiece. T-Pain will square off against Jamie Foxx, Ne-Yo, Ryan Leslie and the Dream for Best Male R&B Artist. Lil Wayne is up against T.I., Kanye West, Young Jeezy and Rick Ross in the Male Hip-Hop Artist category.

Jamie Foxx, also a multiple award nominee, will host the event at Los Angeles’ Shrine Auditorium.

David 'Barber Boi aka Gully Gawd aka Gully Monkey aka Mavado' Brooks is at it Again, teams up with Reggaeton singer De La Ghetto!

Dancehall and reggaeton has collided on popular American station BET, with the recent premiere of the Come Out And See video by singjay Mavado and Puerto Rican artiste, Della Ghetto on 106 & Park.

Come Out and See is produced by Equiknoxx Music and Grav-T productions in Jamaica and the video shot in Cassava Piece and surrounding locations in Kingston by famed director Dantheman.

Last week the song premiered as the 'New Joint of the Week' on BET, making this Mavado's second appearance on the show, following the debut of his So Special video recently. The song also appears on Della Ghetto's album titled Massacre Musical, which has been climbing the Latin Billboard charts.

Equiknoxx producer Gavin Blair, explained how the song came about saying, "Della Ghetto wanted to work with fresh Jamaican producers to do a combination with Mavado who he had previously met in Miami and discussed the collaboration. He linked Jazzy T and he in turn linked us."

He continued, "Della Ghetto came to Jamaica and came by the studio where we vibed like tons of beats. We came up with about ten songs in the space of about four hours. we then handpicked the final two, then Mavado's manager Julian came by and picked them up and played them for Mavado where we agreed on one. We all met at Big Yard studio a day after and recorded the final track. They came back to do the video some months after."

BET reverses their decision to pull Mavado's "So Special" video!

BET have reversed their last minute decision to pull the airing of Mavado's "So Special" video from its flagship 106 & Park show, and have now confirmed they will be airing the video as "New Joint of the Week" this coming Tuesday, March 3rd.

"In some ways the timing worked out even better!" said manager Julian Jones-Griffith. "Mavado's album Mr Brooks - A Better Tomorrow is released on March 3rd, the same day the video will air, so hopefully it will give it that extra push."

BET's decision to pull the So Special video after advertising it's airing irked fans around the world, many of whom skipped work early and cancelled appointments to tune into the show, only to be disappointed.

After much back and forth and re-editing the video has now been accepted by the top brass at BET and passed for inclusion in Tuesday's 106 & Park.
Mavado made a show-stealing performance at BET's Rip the Runway, which also airs this Monday at 9pm.
