Following on the huge success of her two latest singles "All Night" and "Hush" Timeka has been creating quite a stir in the music industry as one of the Caribbean's rising female stars. As she gets ready to roll out yet another single "Feel Fah" which will feature dancehall star, Busy Signal one can be sure to see Timeka wearing the Oakley branded eyewear in what promises to be yet another sizzling music video from the young songstress... Timeka is no stranger to endorsement deals. In her homeland Guyana, Timeka holds an endorsement with King's Jewelry and also continues to represent the telecommunications company Cell Link whose jingle competition made her a household name back in 2006.
Generally known for having athletes promote their brand, these recent artist endorsements signal a new direction for Oakley as they seek to widen their appeal and promote their brand in the Caribbean.
Timeka's stunning beauty and blossoming musical career caught the attention of Oakley's Caribbean representative, Nicholas Alleyne and she is sure to bring not only regional attention to the brand but also international attention as her music is added to rotation on several radio stations.
So it seems that Guyanese songbird Timeka Marshall dreams maybe coming through sooner than she expected. According to a local website the diva first ever hit single ''All Night'' which is currently at the # 1 spot on the Jamaican RE-TV charts as we reported earlier this week. She could gain international recognition shortly if her song is selected as the theme for next season’s CSI Miami.
Source:
Contacted recently, Timeka, who is currently in
Jamaica, told The Scene via telephone that her management team, Pyramid
Entertainment Management Limited, based in Barbados, was responsible for putting
the song up for consideration as the theme for the next season of the crime
scene investigation drama series.
“Yes it is something they [her
management team] have been working on,” Timeka said. “They have been working on
getting my songs out and while I know about it I don’t have any more details. If
it works out it would definitely be good.”
Timeka is up against
Barbadian singer Philip 7, who is managed by the same company, for the theme
song selection. Both of the artistes are sponsored by the sunglasses and sports
apparel brand Oakley.
But while she said it would definitely boost her
career should her song be chosen, Timeka is just focused on doing what she does
best and that is singing and recording.
The beautiful singer, who
certainly causes heads to turn whenever she is around, has come a far way from
the 16-year-old who won the Guyana Telephone & Telegraph Company (GT&T)
first jingle contest back in 2006.
Now at 20 and years after her first
single “Separate”, with which she stamped her authority in the local music
industry and to a lesser extent the Caribbean’s, Timeka is between Jamaica and
Guyana.
She told The Scene that while Guyana is still her home she
spends a significant amount of her time in the land of reggae music as she does
all of her recordings and video shooting in that island.Timeka’s collaboration
with Peetah, “Secrets-Hush”, has been getting a lot of radio and television time
locally and regionally from reports in other Caribbean countries.
The songstress doesn’t seem to be one to boast as she would not venture into saying
how popular her music is in Jamaica.
“To be honest I don’t get the time
to listen to the radio or watch the television so I don’t know how big the song
is here but if it is popular then I am happy,” she said when asked about the
popularity of the song.
Not one to sit idle Timeka is working on a new
and hot video, which will be out in another few months’ time. It is for a new
single called “Feel Fah”, which will be done in collaboration with Jamaican
singer ‘Busy Signal’. Timeka co–wrote the song with Tony Gold and another
Jamaican. She promises that the video would be a very “pretty and hot” one and
it is being choreographed by the same person who does Sean Paul’s videos.
“Everything I do is about work,” she said. “I am always working and in
the studio and even when I am not working on a song for me I am providing
back-up for someone.”
And yes she confirmed that she would be back in
Guyana to play a part in this year’s GT&T jingle and song contest.
She told The Scene that while she is now 20 she is just out of her
teenage years and as such she is still a child in so many ways. “I am not all
grown up. I would not consider myself grown up as I am still very much childish
and I love being that way.”
And the beauty says she is single, meaning
she is not exclusively dating anyone, and while it is not something she looking
for “if it comes along then…”
But for now, “I am just trying to
accomplish my dream and make it come true.”
Well we don't know how true that is.....but hey you never know!!!

She has completed filming the music video with Petah Morgan (Lead singer of the Morgan Heritage family) and has also completed recording a single with Busy signal that is to be released shortly.
The artiste who started her career after winning the inaugural GT&T Jingle competition who is currently in Jamaica working on several projects is expected back in Guyana to play a major role in the GT&T Jingle and song competition this year.
What started out as two individuals in separate worlds writing about infidelity may well turn out to be two chart toppers on the indiscretion rhythm produced by shane brown from Juke Boxx Production.Several weeks ago Peter Morgan, lead singer from the Morgan Heritage band recorded his version of infidelity titled secrets on the track.
But Morgan is not the only one who's having issues with love and commitment. Guyanese rising star Timeka Marshall is also in the cook-up letting her desires and attractions lead her to pen lyrics sharing a female's version on her infidelities.
As the plot thickens by some higher purpose both ended up recording on the same track at different times and none was aware that the other complemented each other.
In the end two songs were recorded and now the two are coming together in an extended video version where Morgan and Timeka both play lead roles.
When deception and secrets but fiery passions collides the steaminess and the dishonesty brings realities truths into focus. The two began filming the videos on March 23 in Jamaica
