News has surfaced that Portmore Empire young guns, Jahvinci and Black Rhyno have made plans to move on and are perhaps even now doing their exit interview with the Gaza President, Vybz Kartel.
This follows hard on the heels of the departure of Gaza Princesses Lisa Hype and Kim, reducing the number of princesses to two.
Despite denials, the rumours of beatings on the Gaza have persisted and these beatings are not just confined to the females in the group — the males also have reportedly been routinely disciplend physically. In the case of Kim, it was documented that she was kicked and boxed by clownies allegedly associated to Kartel.
Of course, the stories have been denied by Gaza sources who say the stories are pure fabrication by persons who are hellbent on mashing up the Gaza and the Portmore Empire, and feel that the departure of Rhyno and Jahvinci would definitely do that.
Black Rhyno, who is most known for his track Bike Back on Russian’s Strip Club Riddim, and Jahvinci, who is currently experiencing good on-air rotation with the track, Babygirl I’m Alone, are said to be the Empire’s biggest money makers, outside of Kartel himself, and the rumours have indicated that the decision to part ways is rooted in financial disagreements.
On February 26th, his recording label Adidjahiem Records, in partnership with notable Reggae label Tads Record, will release Pon Di Gaza 2.0, a re-release of last year's digital Pon Di Gaza album, with a bonus disc of the deejay's latest hit singles, include the current #1 hit "Life We Living." Pon Di Gaza 2.0 is Vybz Kartel's first physical album in nearly four years.
Like Pon Di Gaza, the release of Pon Di Gaza 2.0 comes in the midst of a storm of Kartel controversy -- rumors and allegations of everything from trouble inside his Portmore Empire camp to tangles with law enforcement -- which is all par for the course for the unconquerable deejay.
Maybe all the fame is getting to Mr. ‘Flash and Film it’. He has been absent from several concerts in several countries including Guyana, where only a handful of his entourage and members of the Portmore Empire were absent.
The deejay scored eight #1 singles in 2009, including the internationally acclaimed single "Romping Shop" which hit the Billboard Top 100, and "Dollar Sign," and "Virginity" which are currently in rotation on urban music stations throughout the Caribbean and North America. Since the start of 2010, he has been heralded as Deejay of the Year, Recording Artist of the Year, and Song Writer/Lyricist of the Year by the Excellence in Music and Entertainment Awards, and Favorite Artist of the Year and Best Male Artist of the Year, while his song "Love Dem" was voted Best Chart Topping Song of the Year at the Youth View Awards in Jamaica.
What we can tell you for sure is four of the members from the Portmore Empire have already arrived and according to the promoters Vybz Kartel himself will be in Guyana before 6:00pm this evening.
Stay tuned.....
