Learning that his daughter and Chris Brown have reconciled, Rihanna's father says he supports the singer in her decisions."Whatever road she chooses, I'm behind her," said Ronald Fenty, when reached by telephone in Barbados. Fenty took the reunion in stride Saturday, as he worked selling novelty items on a street corner in downtown Bridgetown. He says he hasn't spoken to his daughter since earlier this month, for her 21st birthday, and only found out about the reconciliation through the media.
"We are a family who stick together even though we are apart," he tells PEOPLE.
Rihanna and Brown have been in Miami Beach together, almost three weeks after Brown, 19, allegedly battered the "Umbrella" singer on Feb. 8, a source tells PEOPLE.

The mayor of a small Southern California city says he will resign after being criticized for sharing an e-mail picture depicting the White House lawn planted with watermelons under the title "No Easter egg hunt this year."Los Alamitos Mayor Dean Grose issued a statement Thursday saying he is sorry and will step down as mayor at Monday's City Council meeting.
Grose came under fire for sending the picture to what he called "a small group of friends." One of the recipients, a local businesswoman and city volunteer, publicly scolded the mayor for his actions.
Grose says he accepts that the e-mail was in poor taste and has affected his ability to lead the city. Grose said he didn't mean to offend anyone and claimed he was unaware of the racial stereotype linking black people with eating watermelons.

Police arrested an Ethiopian man for allegedly sending HIV-tainted blood to President Barack Obama before his inauguration, reports CNN.Saad Bedrie Hussein, who is HIV positive and has a history of mental health issues, told authorities that he admired Obama and that he sent the letter, which included his picture, a ticket to Obama’s party in Chicago’s Grant Park and six index cards with red stains, to see if he could secure tickets to the inauguration.
In an affidavit by a U.S. Postal Inspection Service investigator, the man admitted that he “purposely cut one of his fingers with a razor so he could bleed on the letter.”
The letter was written in an Ethiopian language and was postmarked Dec. 27. It was sent to Obama at the Illinois Department of Aging and was opened a couple of days later by an employee, who also found an orange powder in the note. Tests later determined that the powder was a drink mix.
While Hussein told investigators that he didn’t send any other letters, the state’s Department of Revenue told the investigator about two similar letters, one addressed to the Illinois Department on Aging, the other to “Emanuel,” presumably Obama’s chief of staff Rahm Emanuel, reports the news service.
The complaint filed against Hussein accuses him of “knowingly” mailing the infected letters “with the intent to kill or injure another.” A federal judge ordered that Hussein undergo a mental evaluation in January. “There is reasonable cause to believe [Hussein] may … be suffering from a mental disease or defect rendering him mentally incompetent [and] unable to understand the nature and consequences of the proceedings against him.”
This isn’t the suspect’s first run-in with the law. He was arrested in 2006 for setting a fire in the middle of a Chicago street and yelling, “Allah is great” in Arabic while flailing a Quran.

Following her Canadian leg, she will return to America, singing in Seattle’s Key Arena on April 1 and then continue with other shows in Europe and Asia. Assets of CLICO (Guyana) that escaped the ravages of the collapse of its sister company in the Bahamas are now under the supervision of the High Court, which has appointed Commissioner of Insurance Maria van Beek to manage its affairs as the government here scrambles to protect policyholders.President Bharrat Jagdeo, speaking on the issue yesterday at a press conference at the Office of the President said “the court is in charge” but identified van Beek as the technical person empowered with the authority over the local company.
The court move was precipitated by the Supreme Court order in Nassau on Tuesday for CLICO (Bahamas) to be wound up. The Bahamas company at the time was holding 53% of the local company’s assets and there is thought to be significant impairment.
In her capacity as judicial manager, van Beek is expected to make a full assessment of Clico’s financial position and report to the High Court within a few days. She now manages all the affairs of CLICO (Guyana). She is expected to undertake an inventory of the local company’s assets as well as offer critical advice on the future of CLICO (Guyana).

The 19-year-old singer accused of beating his ex-girlfriend earlier this month has been left fearing for his life, after receiving a series of menacing messages following the publication of a photo of a battered woman believed to be Rihanna.A source told In Touch Weekly magazine: "Chris is scared. Brown has been charged with making criminal threats and was released on $50,000 bail. He is being investigated for other felonies, including domestic violence and assault resulting in great bodily injury.
The source added: "He faces criminal charges and possible jail time, but he's going to have to deal with Rihanna's legion of fans and her close-knit friends in the industry."
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has confirmed it is still investigating how the photograph - a close-up of a young woman's face with cuts on her lips, bruises to her cheeks and forehead and a swollen nose - was leaked.
LAPD spokesman, Lieutenant John Romero said: "They said they were looking into it vigorously. We are not talking about the protocols, because it will relate to this investigation."
Although the LAPD has not formally identified the woman in the picture as Rihanna, they have admitted the picture appears to have been taken "during an official domestic violence investigation."

11 year old Jordan Brown has been charged for the brutal murder of his father's 26 year old girlfriend, Kenzie Marie Houk, and her unborn child.It is alleged that Brown shot Houk, who was eight months pregnant, in the back of the head while she was lying in bed in their western Pennsylvania farmhouse, before taking the bus to school.The Lawrence County District Attorney John Bongivengo reported that Brown will be charged as an adult for criminal homicide and criminal homicide of an unborn child. Brown has been arraigned and sent to the county jail.

In a night of mostly explosive presentations, Shelly G was the one to beat at the 2009 Soca Monarch Competition, and no one was able to do that Sunday night at the National Park.From entrance to exit, she had the audience in a frenzy.Shelly G proved that after years of competing, it was her time to be the monarch, and aside from showing maturity in stage performance, her vocal ability also stood out. She also employed the abilities of a midget and the ever popular granny character, which added to the thrills for the audience.
With fireworks, theatrics and dancers from the X Factor, Classique Theater and the Dance Fanatics, there was never a dull moment on stage and for the audience either.
The night's presentation from the 12 competitors was one full of drama and theatrics, but Shelly's main competition came from Melissa 'Vanilla' Roberts who behaved "Rude" in the true sense of having a grand time.Despite her high energy presentation, she was able to stay on key after experiencing an off- key start. Vanilla also wooed the crowd when she took her presentation to the next level, as she was carried almost to the judges' table above the crowd by four muscular men, she gyrated and sang as the audience parted to let her pass in celebratory tones.
The third place finisher was Lil' Man, who performed under the moniker B52.
Newcomer Mark Batson and Passion had commendable performances.
The longest performance of the night was Tomeeka Thomas, who started her performance in clear skies, sang through the rains and into the clear skies again for about thirty minutes, while the competition's time was 15 minutes. Hers was a presentation that included a snake charmer and an Arabian dancer. But before long, after much shouting and screaming her voice became shaky and cracked several times as she sang "Wine and shake." Though none of the duos made it to the top three, there can be no argument about their vocal abilities, despite some amount of lack of coordination.
Commendation is in order for the duo Purrsonality, for also showcasing their singing abilities. While they tried to create an atmosphere of being "Wet", the audience was not amused. Theirs was a Latin crossover.
The winner took home $ 750,000 while the second place and third place finishers took home $ 400,000 and $ 200,000 cash respectively. The best newcomer got $100,000.... the event was sponsored by Carib Beer and GTT's Cellink Plus.

All roads lead to the Georgetown Cricket Club ground Bourda for the biggest mega concert in Guyana's recent history come mash day. The Hits and Jams camp has reported that all arrangements are in place and all artistes are ready to perform at the multi-million dollar event that promises to set the trend for events coming out of the group's camp for year 2009.Even as ticket sales have gone into overdrive the artistes including T-pain and his circus band as well as Serani are set to touch down on the local shores on Sunday night.
T-pain is promising a memorable international show with some of the popular artistes whom he collaborated with as well as some surprise new faces.
This will be an inaugural trip for T-Pain, who has provided the world with chart topping hits such as "In Love with a Stripper", "Bartender", "Low featuring Flo-Rider", "and Got Money featuring Lil Wayne", and his more recent hits include "Chopped N Screwed", "Can't Believe It" and "Freeze featuring Chris Brown".
The local line up include rising local star Timeka Marshall who will be officially launching her new video,' All night,' Guyana's hottest female artiste Shelly G, the reigning Soca queen who is promising a slew of her hits as part of the local line up.
There is also a presentation carded that would include several artistes on the Kross Kolor Record label including X2, Vanilla, Celeste David among other acts all backed by the New Heat Wave Band and the artiste will be performing on the international stage used for CARIFESTA X with lighting and sound effects from the Fusion Sound company.
