All you Christians and non-Christians its time for the rising as the Youth Ministries Department of First Assembly of God, Wortmanville will be hosting its annual Gospel Fest under the theme, "The Rising."
For many years Gospel Fest has been used as an avenue to promote local talent and to provide a stage that has taken local artistes across the Caribbean and the World while crossing cultural and denominational barriers.
Many of the more prominent local Gospel artistes had their debut at Gospel Fest and it has also been documented as a Show that has had sold out crowds at the National Cultural Centre for the past four year.
Gospel Fest is widening its boundaries and gospel lovers are advised to set aside two nights for this Gospel Extravaganza.
The first night is dedicated to a genre of musical talents and those carded to grace the stage of the National Cultural Centre include Ruth Osman-Rose. Ruth has performed her jazz style gospel at previous Gospel Fests and this year is no different.
Anil Azeez, no stranger to the Gospel Fest stage and will be adding his chutney style to the celebration.
The second night will create a scintillating mood as this will be dedicated to Drama and Dance. Here we will experience another art form, which will be on par with previous productions. The performing arts will be depicting a play written by Raschid Osman. And will be showcased at the Theatre Guild Play House.
Gospel Fest, the festival of the creative and performing arts is the place to be September 19 at the National Cultural Centre and September 20 at Theatre Guild Playhouse. Both shows commence at 20:00 hrs.
