The Sizzla Kalonji Show is scheduled for Saturday September 26, 2009 at the National Park in Georgetown. The line-up of artistes includes the headliner and his band the Firehouse Crew, along with possibly Christopher Martin and several local acts backed by Mingles Sound Machine.
Show Public Relations Officer Stan Gouveia said the Guyanese public has been awaiting the arrival of this entertainer to these shores for quite some time now and as such it is anticipated to be huge in terms of the attendance.
Sizzla arrives in Guyana on September 25 and will host a press conference at the Cheddie Jagan International Airport before hosting motorcade around the capital city and making several public appearances on television. Tickets will go on sale two weeks before the show at a cost of $2,000.00 each. VIP tickets will also be available.
The promotion is being managed by Seven Star Entertainment a group headed by Nigel Harding a US based Guyanese and comprises of DJ Marlon Griffith and Collis Butts. All of these young men have had successes in minor promotions but nothing of this magnitude.
They've pooled their resources for this event. PRO Stan Gouveia confirmed the list of sponsors as including Banks DIH Limited, Ansa McAl Trading Limited, National Communications Network Inc., and Princess Hotels and noted that several others will confirm their participation by the weekend.
The Kashief & Shanghai organisation will head the security detail of the arriving artistes as well as the Show.
