Recently, there has been a furor in the local music industry which has its birth in a song sung by Jory against Ian Johnson. So much so that all sorts of wild and in some cases unfounded rumours are taking feet and crawling about like a sick pestilence in our country! Some of the rumours range from people being beaten by opposing musicians to a US visa being revoked!
And we have also seen, the rebuttal of Jory’s piece by other artistes – which – quite frankly is doing more harm than good to the volatile and embryonic music industry which we claim to have here.
We at GSB, having opted for the freedom of expression that pervades this industry internationally had posted here the issue of Jory’s song and Mr. Johnson’s reaction. At this time however we will remove all such posts and encourage others to do likewise in a spirit of goodwill to make local music worthwhile once more.
We say to both factions to desist from the lewd and vulgar manner in which you air your differences and to remind you that in some way – however small – you are a role model to others and such behavior is unbecoming of people who desire respect!
Jory, you are a talented youth who can channel these talents in a more positive way which will help you to get ahead in this business. Don’t let people who are not putting money in your pocket encourage you to make them laugh at others, at your own expense.
Ian, your response to this situation is shocking but we believe you can do better in mending the fences. After all, the real competition is not here in Guyana, but trying to get an artist on the international scene. Channel your energies thus!
Together we can work to make Guyana a place to reckon with in terms of positive vibes in the music industry and GSB will always support such initiatives. Let’s put friviality behind us and make local music work!

You guys seriously need to re-read that article. What the EIC is saying is that artistes should be role models and therefore produce positive vibes and stop airing their dirty laundry.
You said we dont like Jory? Quite the opposite. If you had took the time to click the video channel link above instead of posting your hate comment, you would have noticed that the video for Mr. Limpy was uploaded there. But since you want to be petty i just added them to the player in the sidebar also.
Thank you for your critisms also, its always welcome.
P.S. we are not haters we just post it how we see it, no biasness and excuse us for trying to express our opinion just as you suggested that Jory is Guyana's #1 Dancehall artiste, which is also your opinion which im sure many would see differently.

Lol @ 1st. Seriously, its that kind of thinking that is killing our music industry. Just because he didn't use violence as his means of retaliation, doesn't mean he was right. The way he's blowing up with this bad press is disgusting, but hey, Guyana love it, so I guess it works. You got to ask yourself what kind of morality exists in our society when this kind of drivel is appreciated by the music fraternity.
